ATHOS - The Animal Ethics and Facility System

ATHOS is an integrated software suite which provides the administration systems for Animal Houses (zoos) in research institutes.

Our Mission

To provide Research and Educational Institutions who need and use animals with the tools and systems to streamline their ethics application processes and legislative requirements. 

History

The need for an Animal Ethics and Animal Facility Services management system was identified by the Baker Heart Research Institute for its own purposes in the mid 1990s. Co-location of the research activities of the Baker, Burnet Institute, Monash Medical School and the Alfred gave the system now called ATHOS, a broader application.

In early 2001 the go-a-head was given and ADB Computers was brought in to do the technical development to achieve the needed capabilities.
